Training at Ouroboros MMA in Romsey

David Finch.

Dave has been immersed in martial arts since childhood. What began with Karate expanded through Tae Kwon Do, Western Kickboxing, Army boxing, Judo, K-1, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.

Alongside competing, he earned a first-class BSc (Hons) in Applied Sports Science, worked with elite athletes and contributed biomechanics research presented at the BASES conference.

He later represented England at the IMMAF European Championships. Today, he remains active in BJJ competition and officiates across leading UK events, keeping his coaching grounded in the modern sport rather than old habits.

Detail without ego.

Good coaching makes complex things understandable. Dave’s sessions prioritise position, timing and decision-making before intensity, so students know what they’re doing and why.

  • Clear, progressive instruction
  • Training adapted to the individual
  • Safe intensity and honest feedback
  • Current, competition-tested methods
